UDD AND DEPED SDO-DAGUPAN FORGE PARTNERSHIP FOR RENUVAL BAYANIHAN PROJECT

Universidad de Dagupan (UdD) and the Department of Education – Schools Division Office of Dagupan City (DepEd SDO-Dagupan) have formalized a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the CID ReNuVal (Reading, Numeracy, and Values) Bayanihan Project. This collaborative initiative seeks to bridge learning gaps among Grade 6 learners by offering guided, values-integrated tutoring sessions focused on strengthening their reading, numeracy, and core values. Representing the Universidad de Dagupan were Dr. Feliza Arzadon-Sua, University President; Dr. Ruby Rosa Cruz, Vice President for Research and Extension Services; and Dr. Bryllene Ann Baquiran, Dean of the School of Teacher Education. Signing on behalf of DepEd SDO-Dagupan was Schools Division Superintendent Rowena C. Bauzon, CESO V. The MOA signifies a joint commitment to quality education and the holistic development of learners.

Through the ReNuVal Bayanihan Project, graduating college students from UdD will serve as volunteer tutors for struggling elementary pupils. These student-volunteers will not only help improve learners’ academic performance but will also promote Filipino values such as respect, discipline, and responsibility through contextual learning and peer interaction. This collaboration serves as a meaningful platform for higher education institutions and the public education sector to work hand in hand in addressing the nation’s educational challenges. It also provides valuable field experience for future educators while strengthening the impact of community engagement and civic responsibility.
