In a significant step toward supporting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, Universidad de Dagupan's School of Engineering has partnered with Bonuan Boquig National High School to enhance mathematics proficiency among senior high school students. This collaboration is formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) as part of Universidad de Dagupan’s Adopt-a-School Program, which is dedicated to improving educational outcomes and empowering students with critical skills needed for higher education and future careers.

The MOA signing was attended by representatives from both institutions. Present from Universidad de Dagupan were Dr. Jose Jay De Vera, Dean of the School of Engineering, Dr. Ruby Rosa Cruz, Research Director, and engineering faculty members Engr. Roderick J. Cabana, Engr. Jesson Anton, Engr. Mark Jecel Rapir, and Engr. Marvin Columbino. Representing Bonuan Boquig National High School were Dr. Renato Santillan, Principal III; Assistant Principal II Bernardita P. Azurin; and Special Science Teacher I Shang Wie Ma.

This partnership aligns closely with the objectives of SDG 4 by addressing the need for quality education through targeted academic support in mathematics, a foundational skill that opens pathways in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The program is designed to strengthen students' math skills through engaging and comprehensive learning sessions led by engineering faculty, thereby enhancing educational equity and building students' confidence and competence in their academic journey.

Through this collaboration, Universidad de Dagupan and Bonuan Boquig National High School aim to create an inclusive and effective learning environment that prepares students for success in higher education and beyond. This initiative reflects Universidad de Dagupan’s commitment to improving the quality of life in the community through education, research, and service, ensuring that all students have access to quality learning opportunities in line with global educational standards.
