Universidad de Dagupan (UdD) and FoodSHAP officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), making UdD the first institution in Region I to become a FoodSHAP Authorized Course Provider. The partnership marks a significant milestone in advancing food safety education in the region while reinforcing the University's commitment to producing globally competitive professionals. Representing the institutions were UdD President Dr. Feliza Arzadon-Sua and FoodSHAP Managing Director Elsie Gatpayat, FSCO.

The agreement formally authorizes UdD to offer the Food Safety Training & Examination System (FSTES) Programs leading to FoodSHAP Qualifications, providing students and industry practitioners with access to internationally recognized food safety certifications. The partnership recognizes FoodSHAP as the national provider of the Food Safety Training & Examination System (FSTES), responsible for authorizing institutions to deliver course programs leading to FoodSHAP Qualifications. As the first institution in Region I to establish this partnership, UdD further strengthens its role as a leader in delivering industry-aligned education and workforce development initiatives. Also present during the signing were Dr. Justin Frances Q. Callesto, UdD Vice President for Administration and Finance and Dean of the School of International Hospitality Management; Mr. John Marc Lomibao, Program Head of the School of International Hospitality Management; and Ms. KC Cadano-Salcedo, FSCO, FoodSHAP Program Partnership Manager.

The collaboration reflects both institutions' shared commitment to promoting excellence in food safety education through accessible, competency-based training and certification programs. By becoming a FoodSHAP Authorized Course Provider, UdD expands learning opportunities that enhance professional competence, uphold food safety standards, and prepare graduates for careers in the hospitality, food service, and allied industries. The MOA signing was held today at Primeland Building, Market Street, Madrigal Business Park, Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa City, marking another milestone in Universidad de Dagupan's pursuit of academic excellence and strategic industry partnerships.
