Koro Universidad de Dagupan enlivens EU–ASEAN welcome dinner

The KORO Universidad de Dagupan delivered a spirited performance during the Welcome Dinner for the EU–ASEAN Peer-Learning Workshop, hosted by the Commission on Higher Education last February 12 at The Peninsula Manila. The event brought together ASEAN and European Union delegations to strengthen strategic partnerships, cultivate professional networks, and advance shared priorities in quality education, mobility, and regional collaboration. In recognition of the choir’s valuable contribution as performers, a Certificate of Appreciation was presented by CHED Chairperson Shirley C. Agrupis.

The award was received by University President Feliza Arzadon-Sua together with Koro choirmaster Kristoff Labayog. The evening was marked by the choir’s engaging repertoire, highlighted by a lively disco medley that drew guests—including ASEAN and European Union representatives—to the dance floor. The performance showcased not only the group’s musical excellence but also its role in promoting cultural exchange and camaraderie among international partners. Among the distinguished attendees were Massimo Santoro, Ambassador of the European Union to the Philippines; Saija Nurminen, Ambassador of Finland to the Philippines; and Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines. The successful gathering underscored the continuing commitment of participating institutions to foster meaningful cooperation across the EU and ASEAN regions.
