SDG 17 - PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE GOALS
DEPED SDO DAGUPAN CITY, UDD PARTNER TO STRENGTHEN SPSTEM AND ROBOTICS EDUCATION
The Department of Education – Curriculum Implementation Division (CID), Schools Division Office of Dagupan City, and Universidad de Dagupan (UdD) formalized a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to strengthen the Special Program in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (SPSTEM) in selected public schools in Dagupan City, with a particular focus on Robotics education. Representing DepEd SDO Dagupan City were Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Rowena C. Banzon, CESO V; Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Ms. Anna Liza M. Chan, CESE; Chief Education Supervisor for CID Maria Linda R. Ventenilla; and Education Program Supervisor Ms. Cherry A. Cayabyab.
UdD was represented by University President Dr. Feliza Arzadon-Sua and University Chief Operating Officer Sir Jann Alfred Arzadon Quinto. Aligned with DepEd Dagupan City’s Project S.E.A.R.C.H. and UdD’s institutional thrusts on innovation, research, extension, and technology-driven education, the partnership focuses on enhancing teachers’ competencies through capacity-building programs, developing instructional resources, and enriching students’ learning experiences through hands-on robotics training, challenges, exhibitions, and research activities.
UdD, through its School of Engineering, will provide technical expertise, mentorship, and access to facilities to support the program. The MOA establishes a collaborative framework that advances quality basic education while reinforcing UdD’s commitment to community engagement, research-based learning, and STEM innovation. The signing ceremony was witnessed by deans and heads of the different departments of the University.
