The Department of Science and Technology โ€“ Ilocos Region (DOST-IR) and Universidad de Dagupan (UdD) formally sealed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) establishing the DOSTโ€“UdD Innovation Hub (iHub), a strategic platform aimed at advancing Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Internet of Things, and Additive Manufacturing within the University. Representing DOST-IR during the signing were Regional Director Dr. Teresita A. Tabaog and Engr. Arnold C. Santos of DOST Pangasinan. UdD was represented by University President Dr. Feliza Arzadon-Sus and University Chief Operating Officer Sir Jann Alfred Arzadon Quinto. Through the partnership, UdD is positioned as a regional center for innovation and emerging technologies, with DOST-IR providing Php 750,000.00 in project support.

The funding will be used to strengthen UdDโ€™s facilities, research capabilities, and academic offerings. UdD will host and manage the iHub within its campus, integrating AI and smart infrastructure research into its academic programs while giving students and faculty access to advanced technologies, equipment, and industry-aligned training. The MOA is expected to significantly enhance UdDโ€™s academic reputation, innovation ecosystem, and extension impact by enabling the University to serve as a hub for digital transformation, research collaboration, and workforce development. The signing ceremony was witnessed by deans and heads of the different departments of the University.
